AVON FOUNDATION
Need for Speed Against Domestic Violence
National Charity Partner Relay Series
Timberline Events LLC and the Green Mountain Relay are proud to be part of the Avon Foundation's Need For Speed relay series to raise money to support programs against domestic violence.
OBJECTIVE
To increase funding and awareness for children who are victims or witnesses of domestic violence nationwide by partnering with relay races across the country and offer runners the opportunity to dedicate their participation to this important cause.
NEED FOR SPEED AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Please dedicate your participation in the Green Mountain Relay to a friend, relative, or co-worker who has been affected by domestic violence, and start raising donations in their honor. If you are fortunate enough not to know someone affected by domestic violence, you can still help us raise money for this important cause. Domestic violence is witnessed by up to 10 million children each year, and affects 1 in 3 women worldwide—please help us end this devastating cycle.
FUNDRAISING IS EASY!
There is no fundraising requirement, but all participants are asked to raise or donate at least $50 to help children of domestic violence. Once you register, you can set up your own personal webpage and send emails to your friends and family inviting them to support you and to share in your Relay experience.
Help end the cycle of domestic violence.
WIN GREAT PRIZES! - to be announced
WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?
Funds raised by each partner relay will remain in the local community. The Avon Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity manages and disburses the funds raised. The Need for Speed Against Domestic Violence National Relay Series will focus on the challenges faced by children of domestic violence - - with an emphasis on counseling, education and skill development to prevent them from becoming victims or abusers in the future. You can help by speaking out and creating a world in which violence is unacceptable.
The recipient of funds raised by runners in the Green Mountain Relay will go to the Vermont Network Against Domestic and Sexual Violence (www.vtnetwork.org), an umbrella organization that serves sixteen member domestic violence organizations throughout Vermont, including the Women Helping Battered Women organization located in Burlington.
