Volunteer Information : Volunteer Duties :

WHAT VOLUNTEERS DO

  • Assist drivers into Exchanges to reduce vehicle congestion. If vehicles obstruct road shoulders, runners are forced into traffic.
  • Record baton exchange times on Exchange Time Records.
  • Review final instructions with outgoing runners in Runner Exchange Areas. If possible, drive the course to the next Exchange and communicate problems.
  • Record rule violations on Exchange Time Records.
  • Instruct runners/spectators to remain off roads and away from Runner Exchange Areas.
  • Allow only Active Vans to park in Exchanges.
  • Request quiet at night near residential areas.
  • Clean Exchanges and encourage participants to do the same.

VOLUNTEER DUTIES - DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:

VOLUNTEER 1 (TIMER AND RUNNER EXCHANGE AREA MONITOR):

VOLUNTEER 2 (SPOTTER):
